Instructions to install Zedboard JTAG drivers in Linux

  • Plug in the Jtag USB beside the power connector and the UART USB on the otherside of the power connector.
  • JP7 - JP11 should be “down” connecting SIG to GND.
  • Power on the Zedboard and you should see to USB devices connected.
  • lsusb
    • Future Technology Devices
    • Cypress Semiconductor Corp.
  • Install the JTAG drivers
    • select Digilent ADEPT, select Download
    • Download and install Runtime and Utilities
    • select Digilent Plugin for Xilinx Tools, Select Download
    • Download the libCseDigilent plugin tar file.
    • copy Digilent plugin files
      • from libCseDigilent_2.5.2-x86_64/ISE14x/plugin
      • to SDK/2015.1/lib/lnx64.o
      • to Vivado/2015.1/data/xicom/vcse_plugins/lnx64.g/Xilinx/libCseTcfPlugin
    • sudo udevadm control -R
    • djtgcfg enum “if this detects the Digilent Zed” the reboot is optional
  • reboot after
  • djtgcfg enum “should find Digilent Zed”
